I got this for 5 bucks on Steam and I've already played hundreds if not thousands of hours of WADs.

I beat it a few times before going to another planet became an option. Does leaving feel nice?
Something about restarting my entire factory process after spending a hundred hours optimizing for my rocket sounds a little lame.

Inquisitor 3D is probably my favorite wad ever
Going down is classic but everyone's played that
Ashes 2063 is arguably the best wad ever in terms of raw quality
Golden Souls 1 is great, but the sequel requires more autism than I have
Ancient Aliens is also a classic but is more "short and sweet"
Prodoomer is a bit silly but it's pretty addictive
Azazel's Second Descent is a bit more unknown but really fun

I don't mod much beyond new levels so I couldn't really tell you about cool weapon mods and alternative systems and such

I would chastize you for buying doom when that game should be treated as freeware cause not a single soul that worked on those games is with id soft. But at least the recent doom1+2 +legacy of rust release is an actually competent port unlike everything before.

That's why I asked actually, I've barely played any Doom at all but been doing some co-op every couple weeks with some friends recently. Thanks though I'll check these out.

I don't actually like Doom. I played Doom 1 and 2 and never got the fuss.
Doom is only good because of it's rabidly autistic (in the good way) community. If people hadn't bothered making so much cool stuff for it, it wouldn't be anything special beyond the historical significance-

You still need your original factory.
You turn it into a space platform development factory

Well, I'm not really trying to be a dick or anything but if you don't like building a factory in the factory building game then you probably won't like building a factory on another planet that wants you to build a factory on it. Other planets don't really demand factories that are as big and complex as the Nauvis factory. You only have the one science pack per extra planet to produce. Your factory on other planets will just be producing the one science pack and whatever structures that are required to be assembled on and using space platforms to ferry them to other planets. Those structures are usually super useful and you'll want to place them on othet planets to bolster production. But uh, yeah. If you dont want to build factories in the factory builder then I dunno if you're playing the right game.

Do you think Carmack and Romero are getting residuals when you buy DooM in 2025?
