I was autistic enough to buy a physical copy to play it. You need a pretty good tolerance for sluggish movement and controls, but I think it really lands with the atmosphere and level design (although it's a bit linear in terms of progression).

I hated KF when I tried the first game. I tried 4 when an anon was shilling it a few years ago, and ended up really enjoying it and was able to go back and enjoy and appreciate the older KFs too.

Hell yeah. It's a very good short game. Nice progression and payoff, interesting levels, multiple weapons to try.

I was burned out on the formula after marathoning KF1-3 and Shadow Tower, but I've been meaning to revisit it once I got my juice back. It seems really cool, from what I can tell it's not much of a mechanical evolution but the environments are a lot more visually interesting

The thing about KF 4 I can't get over is how it's somehow even slower then the previous three. How do you do that? Why do you do that? It's the best looking and sounding one but the biggest pain to play. Still like it a lot of course.

I played the original JP one and liked it a lot. I got filtered by the second one which is the first one in American because I got lost in some ant maze tunnel system and couldn’t find where to go. May give it another shot. I find the games more interesting than the dark souls games for some reason.

Are you telling that guy that because of the way you look up and down? Does KF 4 still use the triggers to look up and down? When I played KF1 I had it twice as bad. I only had a generic NES usb controller on hand so needed to use the select and start buttons to look up and down. I think I mapped magic to the space bar and inventory to my enter key and some other shit I can’t remember. It was a nightmare but kind of funny I was able to get through it like that. The NES controller only has 2 face buttons but the select and start I mapped to L trigger and R trigger.

yea if you increase cam speed in the old kf games you can destroy the framerate pretty easily, they already struggle to run at 15fps, but if you double camspeed they chug down to like 7fps if you're looking around in areas with lots going on

I got through Shadow Tower Abyss and had a long of fun but I just cannot play KF4, it's so fucking slow. The speed is so glacial that it detracts from the game.
