No, they got fucked because according to the DMCA circumventing encryption is illegal. All switch games and firmware is locked by keys, while this encryption is easy to crack and the keys easy to share, the act of cracking and sharing them is illegal. Thus the emulators are illegal by extension, also Nintendo had plants in their discord with multiple instances showing them sharing these keys, likely with more to find if the discord server became part of the case. They were completely fucked.

the paperclip wasn't the exploit, retard. it was always a software vulnerability.
you can still enter the recovery mode with a paperclip on a new switch, they just patched the bootrom code in newer units so you can't send exploit code on recovery mode anymore.

There's a wip emu on d5a that allows you to get to the title screen, but ctd's past that point. It has no name yet but it's largely based on the yuzu emu. It's probably going to stay private for a while until more games come out and compatibility issues get fixed.

The officially purchased Switch """""games""""" are the txt files with links to Nintendo servers (yes, your physical carts need software updoots too, and they will shut down the servers). Owning the game is about being able to play it regardless of what Nintendo does or whether your Switch breaks.

Not really no. Nintendo had to build a translation layer into the OS to make switch 1 games work.
