Classic Sean Bean moment. Man brings gravitas to "I LIKE PIGS!" like it's a Shakespeare monologue. Civilization VI truly peaked in pig appreciation.

Never liked Civ because I never understood it. But I do interested in the space/scifi one, Beyond Earth, is it? Heard it was panned by fans, but if it's just because of its unorthodox settings but it still has basic Civ mechanic, I think I want to start with it.

It was panned because it was shit. At least at release. Dunno how long it was supported but it was a true nothingburger.

It's not even a good one to start on because atleast in regular you can understand what getting artillery will roughly do and that getting it in 3000 AD is slow

Setting has nothing to do with Beyond Earth being shit. Look at Alpha Centauri, another spinoff of the main series that also takes place on another planet in a scifi future and it's one of the most praised entries.

True, I'm too lazy to get into it even having played a lot of Civ 3 and 4. Still, the world building a narrative are excellent and can be experienced through this blog.

Also, several of the secret projects are great. https://youtu.be/rGCaACqy1Ro?si=tLdylBrcrQZzdk2_
