Great game, one of the best by virtue of the genre being such a crapshoot. Suffers from the usual Obsidian problem of being completely unfinished and not utilizing the great premise to its full potential. Still worth playing at least once.

I hate how the game ends and it just feels like you're about to hit the climax of like the first act
the ending almost entirely ruins the game

Great tech demo for immediate choice and consequence in a CRPG.
Past that it's a buggy mess with no real depth in anything other than variety of outcomes. Tyranny is also very particular in how it wants you to progress and will just fuck you over on side content if you advance the main plot to far.

The only good rtwp combat system ever made. Also, like two enemy types and fun spellcrafting. Theres two storylines but really I cannot imagine playing for the voices of nerat so only one storyline (the nazis). Ultimately this game is what pillars of eternity should've been but sadly rehashing baldur's gate (again) and appealing to manchildren grognards as well as inserting 100 OC characters from backers was the route obsitards went for instead of an actually fun game with fresh ideas.

I hate Pillars so fucking much, hands down among the worst fantasy worlds ever conceived with boring premise, races and gods.
Also, blue niggers with fins and renaissance niggers?! Whoa, that's some wild creative designs Obsidian.

All that stuff about the purity of their people seemed pretty nazi to me. They just go on and on about how elite their ppl are and how subhuman the tiersmen are. I know that most of historical civilizations are indeed like that but the game was written by modern day US citizens with college education so that means they definitely went for a 1930's german national socialist theme, or what they think 1930's nazi germany was like anyhow

in theory the chaosniggers have more potential, they just need to stop being retards
elite soldiers, given it's an iron-age story, are just not a good long terms strategy, and elite soldiers that only come from a small population are even worse, at some point you're just going to get attritioned to death

hence why they actually god conquered in the first place

mass recruitment works out a lot more when iron and steel are in the picture

Ditto, the "lul so randumb XD" chaotic characters always invoke in me the desire to curbstomp them into paste.
The Disfavored are the only acceptable choice, too bad their leader turns out to be a tired pussybitch, but at least he recognizes that and willfully gives you control over the legion.

stop being an idiot
Tyranny is written by people with genuine interest in historical fiction, you notice by just how well it portrays the early iron age style expansion of empires, there's nothing allegorical to the modern day in it

and remember all that stuff about being elite and what not is in part cope on their part because never forget: they're a conquered people, exactly the same as the tiersmen, exactly the same as anyone part of the chorus, they're all legally equal because Kyros demands it, they're still shitscared of opposing you because you're the will of the Law represent

The entire reason they're even allowed to continue their purity BS is because Kyros considers it useful, since it gives them good unit cohesion, but at the same time they're dangerously close to overstepping their boundaries and losing their usefulness, it's why Kyros was perfectly wiling to nuke them, hell the game makes it pretty clear that at some level Kyros had expected the conquest to be a lot harder and was planning to suicide them into the Tiersmen to get rid of them

I love how having coherent and civilized niggers is subconsciously like, a really out there idea to Obsidian. And the fact they gave them a Latin language with italian/spanish accent is funny as well ("Aren't you surprised OUR fiction blacks don't use ebonics?").
Also the little about their world being called "Hel" lmao fuck pillars seriously.
Although Pillars 2 multiclassing was pretty cool imo but then everything else is so lame and cookiecutter its unbelievable

I played unarmed because I hate gearing in pretty much every game I play and was pleasantly surprised it was a viable way to play, the spellcrafting is decent too.
But like others said, this game ends as it's about to get interesting, not worth imo.

I mean, the game is very well written, thats kind of why I liked it so much over pillars. Every part of what you mentioned I did notice while playing the game, but nonetheless it's too funny to boil down an entire faction to X or Y and at the end of the day I am making an anonymous 4cuck post but thanks for clarying to any lurkers

fair enough, it's a vietnamese basketweaving forum after all, hard to see who's retarded and who's just trolling

guess though that's part of why people are frustrated with the game, it's well written, better than most Obsidian games, but it just fucking ends out of nowhere in such an unsatisfying way

As opposed to Tyranny or even the Pathfinder games which felt like their dialogues deepened your understanding of any given topic and helped form an opinion of the surrounding world and its people with every minor and major character being a contributor to the tapestry. Josh Sawyer and autistic fucks like him should stay in game design and let people with actual real world experience write the damn games

There's four primary routes. Scarlet Chorus, Disfavored, Vendrien Guard (yes, you can side with them) and Anarchist where you side with nobody. All of them have almost entirely unique playthroughs and subdivide into different takes on the same thing (for example you can side with Nerat legitimately, or backstab and body snatch him).
