honestly one of the reasons i strictly avoid games from China
apparently they also remove content after a few months so new players can't play any of the original stuff

because it makes more money, it's as simple as that,
we need laws against gambling based monetization
the free market will never correct this and the only alternative to regulation is accepting more and more games becoming gacha

It was a couple back at this point but yes they did. I liked the game because it avoided the gacha daily chore shit for the most part. You could bang that shit out in less than a minute. But now it's just like every other treadmill. And the story retcon sucks.

That's the thing, it might actually not be successful. There's a very real threat that it could be overshadowed by other "real game" releases, and so all the money they spent on this relatively big-budget open world Nikki game are now costs they'll never recoup.

Whereas with the gacha model, it's free so people are more likely to give it a chance. Then once they get hooked, you can keep asking for more money from existing players in the form of the gacha mechanics, and in long run make way more than they spent developing the game (they already made a crap ton of money.)

Actually, the reason gacha is so prevalent these days is because it's actually less risky to do the gacha route than it is to do a full-release "real game." People are a lot less likely to spend $60 on a game than they are to download a free game on their phones. Which is a trend I really hate, and I think people have no taste, and I view the majority of people as dumb cattle or a type of dog, but there's no point complaining about it anymore.

This was my fav AGP game and they ruined it :(

This game lost more than half it's playerbase in a single greedy update.

And they don't care because they're squeezing more money out of the remaining players. With the added bonus of freeloaders no longer putting strain on their server costs (if that's how it even works, I have no idea)
