2D Twinstick Gothic

Huge open world exploration in the first act, narrows down into a pretty meh linear experience once you pick a faction. I think they've updated it and fleshed out some of the secret areas since I last played so it might be a little better now.

game was alright until you befriend a forest full of hippies and baby animals only to slaughter all of them during the main story with no other possible choice because the devs didn't have enough money to do a third branch in the storyline

I imagine it makes more sense if you only enter the forest after being contracted by your faction to explicitly steal their secrets, but if you found them before the quest you have no reason to destroy them. Made me so mad.

think the devs are just autistic or something, they were in the steam forums confused about why people were upset about slaughtering piglings during a bossfight (including the named ones that you previously saved during a quest)

call me a brainlet but I've spent 10 minutes in the beginning running around the fog without anything happening and I just quit and uninstalled. 100% filtered. Maybe the game tells you where to go but I skipped it as I was grinding through my backlog at high speed, discarding shit that didn't stick quickly

Is the combat more about player skill and expression or is it more of a stat check?

Very repetitive game, barebones story and world, strong women always and literally nothing of value. Beat it and will never touch it again. Not worth a playthrough. Has a decent intro 4/10.l whole package.

Game has simplistic mechanics, sword and board and heavy armor gives you survivability, unlike light armor, which is completely pointless, given there are battles everywhere and every single one drags itself, as the damage sponges dish out damage fast. Expect to die in 3 hits with light armor.
