I think any ol' RTS is good to start with, but it wouldn't be bad. You can adjust game speed in the settings in case things are going too fast for you. Do make sure to install some patches and whatever because RA2 is old as fuck but gold

Starting with what people regard as one of the best with lots of developed QOL features is a terrible idea. It will ruin alot of other RTS especially in the same series for you. C&C would be a better start, hell even RA3 is more beginner friendly.
