I bought the game after the DLC came out, and I gave up pretty early. The path tracing is a "good" implementation (read as: everything is greasy) on top of ugly models and textures.
There's a third world shill campaign to prop this up as the most beautiful game ever, because it gives third world performance metrics to first worlders.

Chances of them having one final large update at the end of the year for the anniversary? or maybe even a dlc?

GTA had non-player world interactions over 20 years ago that are missing in cyperpunk. NPCs getting into fights, stealing cars, gangs fighting etc. Nothing like this happens in cyperpunk unless it's a pre-placed scripted event.

It adds a new skilltree that can really complement your playstyle. I'd say it's a must buy so you don't miss out on those skills, the dlc story is also better than the main story and the new area is cool but not the best area in the game imo.

The DLC is MUCH better than the base game. It's not incredible or anything though, it's just way less tedious filler and more focused on the main story and characters involved as opposed to what the base game is like.
It's like a refined version of the base game. If there is a big negative, it's that the city is the best part about Cyberpunk, and just making a whole new, totally separate area that is NOT to have your new story play out in seems like a weird choice.

Cyberpunk not having a ton of isolated DLC stories set in the same city just opening up existing buildings to be part of the story is a huge missed opportunity. I basically checked out as soon as they said the next game would be in a different city. Huge waste.

I just started the base game on family share. Any strong opinions on what the most entertaining paths to spec into are? I could just keep playing and eventually use the respec to sandbox each branch with save loading but I'd rather be spoonfed the lowdown tbqhwy.

if you're playing with a controller, keep it simple. Spec body, grab a shotgun and blast enemies apart. If you're on kb&m, reflex movement based gameplay as a "heh, nothin personal" katana edgelord is fun

Netrunner got nerfed between 1.0 to 2.0 but you can still snipe Suicidal thoughts into people. (INT+pick a sub, I went Tech)
Power weapon Ricochet shots are hilarious and you can divert well into stealth or full on frontal. (REF+COOL)
Full Borg Melee Man lets you pick people up and throw them with Gorilla Autism (Body + Tech)

You get enough attribute points to max out 3 attributes.
And enough skill points to go through the needed perks on like 2 of the trees.
So a respec to try things youre locked out of will be needed at some point.
