I was specifically told that gaming on Linux would offer better FPS/performance, that it was just as easy and intuitive as windows to get running, that everything worked and there weren’t any compatability issues and wine is incredible now… basically, that it offered an objectively better experience than windows did in every way.

Well that was a fucking lie. Turns out it’s dogshit and barely anything works. Doing something as simple as plugging in a controller doesn’t work because no one made a driver for my specific brand. Framerate/performance was worse in every single game I was able to get running. I can’t fucking play the comp games I like because they aren’t compatible. All in all, it’s just a fucking shitheap that barely works. And then when I asked the people who recommended I dive into it and sold it as this super easy objective upgrade over windows… they admitted they were basically lying to me and the point of Linux gaming isn’t that it’s better, but it doesn’t have ‘bloat’ and it has better ‘privacy’ than windows.

That’s strange because the reason the linux kernel is so bloated is because of drivers like this. Even my wacom tablet just werks when I plug it in.
