How many people have an Atari 2600 that still works? Like 0.001% of the population?

I wouldn't be surprised if a good amount of actual boomers have hung on to their consoles due to nostalgia. I am also sure those consoles still will work in the future while shit like the Xboxes will have nowhere near the same shelf life.

It's not on the 2600, it's on the 7800, OP is just a retard.

Atari has been re-releasing their older consoles that work with the old carts

Boomer here, can confirm. I still have mine and my C64. The C64 is fun to mess around with to this day, but 98% of the 2600 library is utter shit so that just collects dust. It was honestly never good and coasted entirely on novelty factor.

Atari has the 2600+ and 7800+ these days, they're HDMI systems that take actual 2600/7800 carts (the 2600+ does also support 7800 games), including official repro carts and homebrew game carts.

Atari is still actively selling both the 2600 and 7800. Yes you read that correctly.

Bubsy (who is now owned by Atari) is still alive and well for a reason you know.
