As a consolefag (Basedny4) who used to be a PChad, I will tell you. There are so many options, and free online games for PC, that there's significantly less pressure to buy games. Unlike with consoles.

When you have a PC, if you get an itch for a specific indie game, you can go to Newgrounds/Kongregate/Miniclip/etc. and play something similar. With consoles, you have to buy something instead.
When you have a PC, if you get bored of a game, you can download mods for a fresh new experience. With consoles you have to buy a new game instead.
