>>716194904don't forget the remaster actually restores some visual effects that the trilogy release was missing, like the particle effects on the cannon when charging it up (most obvious being the frost with the ice beam) and water dynamically rippling on the surface
it also adds some new ones, like the visor interior lighting up with shots and on the map screen, additional rain effects on the arm cannon when looking up and looking down in the chozo overworld, certain types of beams passing through ice (I don't actually know if this was in the original), fixing the hand signs samus makes for the beams in the x ray visor (I don't think they match the symbols still but now they're all distinct from each other), cleaning up and polishing old animations from the original that make her move less like a robot, basically instant load times between doors
there's also some downgrades like the flying pirates not causing a massive explosion when they suicide but that seems like an overall change to remove bright flashing effects which is present in other areas (like the sap bombs you can shoot to blow up, they don't flash white when they explode anymore, also the lights coming through that one room after the generator on the way to ice beam don't blind you when you walk through them) and overall just a massive lighting overhaul and basically a high quality remake of every asset in the game, many rooms have godrays and really interesting baked lighting that they just didn't have before, and you can actually read details and see graphics on monitors in space pirate areas and the like
there's also the new look for the thermal visor which some people bitched about but I really like because it looks more like an actual thermal camera and is more immersive, and they added even more effects like samus's cannon dynamically heating up and cooling down as you shoot it instead of just palette swapping everything when you turn the visor on
even dead enemy's bodies slowly go cold
