For years I read people saying the Fatal Frame movie was a good J-horror movie on its own merits and worth watching. Finally got around to seeing recently and it was the most boring load of shite I'd seen for a long time. I'd rather even watch that shit Mortal Kombat movie from a few years ago

Detective Pikachu is too divergent from the core Pokemon series formula. It's not enough that it has pokemon in it but it needs to be a pokemon movie.

They make most of their money off merch anon. Just because its' popular in one thing doesn't always transfer to making it popular in another. The Minecraft movie was just TikTok marketing that made it popular and not because the movie itself was actually good. People said that would definitely break $1b but even with the TikTok marketing, it was trailing behind the Mario movie week after week. It didn't have as much staying power as people thought.
