What's your argument? Think the 80-year-old-FF-gamers are dragging up the average?

Okay. Isn't that ideal?
>making good money, none of that first step in career shit
>probably no children yet, just fucking 20-somethings
>lots of free time because no children and not high enough up at work to matter

people were saying that FF is dead in japan because it's stereotyped as a game for old people

guess this just confirms it

And then when they inevitably die of GRIDS or vaccine AIDS, what will Square Enix do? They need to think of solutions and they need to think of them quickly.

Define 'fan' because they have only produced garbage for 20 years now but I still play half of the early ones every couple years.

Unironically what can Square Enix do to appeal to zoomers without further bastardizing the franchise?

They tried movie shit, actiony combat, and realistic art directions
Besides giving characters names with x's and z's, obnoxious multicolored hairstyles that never have any resemblance of symmetry, and make them overweight with tattoos and face piercings, there's literally nothing else they haven't tried. Square should've stopped trying with zoomers a long ass time ago

My dad is 50 and he's the average Final Fantasy fan, meaning he played just Final Fantasy IX when he was young, never played another final fantasy again, never replayed FF IX either, doesn't care for the other final fantasies, hasn't played any of the previous ones and hasn't even heard of the following ones.

Yet he still calls himself a fan.
So i suspect 99% of FF fans are like that. The other 1% being the troons who play FF 14

>completely remove all RPG elements and make the next mainline entry a shitty shallow full actionslop game with tons of spectacle to get younger players into the series

There were like 10 Final Fantasies released between 1988 and 2000 and then... 4 of them since then? (not counting MMOs)
Why wouldn't they be middle-aged?

It might be funny to say this, but probably more stylized like Persona. Because at least that fanbase is young.

The 2000s Western media push by the industry mind broke them and most of Japan. Capcom only kinda recovered, Sega kinda recovered, Nintendo recovered, Konami never recovered, Bamco recovered. It did lead though to mid-tier companies to soar like NIS & Falcom.

Between the different styles and themes of FF 6, 7, 8 and 9, Square decided that doubling down on the aesthetic of 8 but making it even more of a weirdly soft sci-fi-magitech-futuristic vibe for all future games was the future. They were clearly wrong.
