The shitty story from the initial release, while still present, is reframed that the cause of it all is Michael initiating dark rituals to fuck with reality and kill Alex for causing Michael and Alex's sister to break up. Also there's a whole bunch of totally not passive aggressive slideshows in YiiK 2/NG+ discussing the "dark game" and "original sin" as an esoteric way of shitting on critics.
