It was always playable but they made some much needed improvements in the latest 2.0 patch. Its still far from perfect but its now the best way to play the games officially outside of owning a PS2.

The PC version however has some fan made patches and mods which improve the experience even more and that is the definitive way to play the games

Second, we could get a port of Piss Walker and MGSV Deluxe with MGR and that is your collection Vol 2 bro.
At most, we can hope for Ghost of Babel if that is the case since Konami has a knack for porting NES games except Digital Eclipse is no Nightdive.
The fact they are handling the MK Kollection is pretty lousy.

Finally I will be honest with you, MGS4 alone is worth full price as a stand alone game if it includes MGSO. If not MGS$, I would be happy with a collection that encompasses the PSP era including MGA!2 with real VR support. I love that game sooo much.

The thing is that I do not see anyone at Konami tackling a tall order like MGS4 anytime soon and if they do it will be pretty broken or unpolished. Even for Nightdive that would be too much man.

Why that instead of MGS1? Konami working backwards is so weird. SH1 is getting it remake which is actually necessary but the thing is that well, not to be pretentious but SH1 has more nuance in retrospective like the intentionally shitty tank controls that only get worse the more you increase the difficulty, I do not see team Goober adapting that, if anything Sh2 is too easy with the new dodge mechanic.

There exists a complete version of MGS4 for the 360. Konami R&D had it done without Kojima's knowledge, and it worked well. You'd figure they'd keep these in a box somewhere, but, probably not.

Realistically only Peace Walker will be ported in a vol 2 since they can rip it from bluepoint's collection like they did with MGS2 and MGS3. MGSV is already a game you could purchase in any store front and a spin off like MGR will likely be remastered separately

MGS4 is simply too big a hurdle for modern konami to bother with. The programming, product placement, controls all need to be overhauled or removed

A good port of the 3DS version would be kind of nice, since I actually like how the 3DS version looks aside from the obvious performance issues. I don't see it ever happening now that Delta exists though.

Ghost Babel getting an easier control scheme would also be nice, but again, not something I expect to ever happen.
