Why are threads not autolocked after a certain amount of time if you don't like necroing? Why leave something easily automated to the job of a moderator to have to clean up on a daily basis? You could say this is old forums, but shit even happens on Steam forums. Also, why are forum users such faggots. In situations described in OP, yeah it wouldn’t be a problem. But most of time necro’ing would be someone commenting something completly asinine and pointless. Forums had relatively small real estate for the “front page” or whatever, having a thread from 6 years ago get bumped to top of list because some guy commented “lol that’s funny” replying to a prehistoric meme. Because no one else is going to join in a discussion that’s been dead for years, but it’s now taking up a slot of the few active threads.

Granted there’s plenty of ways to combat this, mainly don’t allow replies after a certain amount of time.

It's sad but I'm finding the AI so much better at answering my convoluted or vague questions. Like you said, google will bombard me with sponsored shit or completely unrelated stuff, while the AI will answer it to my satisfaction. Google thinks it can stay top dog while making its search engine worse, and they are mistaken. They'll be replaced by the AI soon enough. It'll know what I'm talking about or the kind of result I'm looking for.
