Thats because you are going into threads of those enthusiasts anon. Most people have realized that most "advancements" in vidya are performative and that you can easily get away with "old" tech to run 99.9% of anything worth a shit. They will cope and call you poor of course, but anyone thinking they need a 5000 series for literally anything is a deranged retard

I guess what surprises me most is that they think gaming is "better" by this simple measure. It seems to me production widows would be shorter, and costs for the developers and consumers would be down.
So why? (More rhetorical at this point)
But thank you for the validation, I was beginning to feel like I was one of the only ones here

Outside of mega retards that use crystals and shit, no one denies that many audiophile things theoretically DO have some sort of increased quality. It's just that the return on investment is insanely bad where those ball python cables cost 10,000x more for 0.001% less distortion that no human ear can actually distinguish, they just gaslight themselves into thinking they can.

It's actually real and scientific but not in the retarded implied way: gold cannot corrode easily so it's more durable than other cables.
It doesnt sound better because of some magical properties of gold on the sound; it's just that the cable will not degrade itself as easily so the sound will stay at 100% for longer.

You'll usually not notice a gradual drop in quality until it gets so bad that you either lose the signal or audio starts peaking at normal volumes. The point of gold-plated wiring is to not have to worry about anything beyond taking care of it.

NTA, I wouldn't trust DIY like that, but something is true:
- cheap cable (or cable that wanted to look futuristic and cool) will pick up magnetic field and it create noise.
- good cable may use magnet (in a way I'm too stupid to explain) to get rid of the noise.
