>>716222475Same here, been playing Rimwolrd nonstop instead lol.

I finally played BOTW and Rune factory Guardians of Azuma and it was really inspiring.
So then I implemented a new skybox, weather system, integration with TVE to make plants white during snow, an UBER shader for gameobjects to make snow appear on houses, a terrain shader to make the terrain snowy. Then did the same exercise for rain. Then I made the playable character react to rain. Then I attached some rain drop effect on the character to play when it stops raining, to show he is wet.
Then I realized that I got sidetracked and that I totally neglected the game part of the game.
>>716220264 (OP)Worked on enemy AI yesterday. Today I'm adding few new behaviors and testing them out.

>>716233701>I had a pretty good idea for one during a shower but I forgot it alreadyI went for a short walk and remembered, I wanted to make a behavior where the enemy gains attack speed for a few seconds, and then loses it afterwards AND more for a few seconds.
Since I wanted to make a system for buffs and possibility to delay them.

Finished up my Temperature system, I'm gonna start making an enemy that can go invisible tomorrow.
>>716234382looks super fine. Have you considered making the title more pixelated so it fits better with everything else?
Tutorial is nearly complete; I just need to add in the cutscene for when the player actually defeats Minister Shen. If you were not aware, there will be an explorable version of Fortress Fygoon (more pictures to follow) and you will be able to interact with the Minister by either asking for a rematch or some advice based on your progress. Playing a Kameo made me realize just how annoying and useless Ortho the Wizard was, so I made Shen's advice mystic-sounding but more practical (also you have to seek him out instead of him blathering about "Durr you're not good at this game." while you're fighting the controls to do exactly what he's about to suggest).
I've been converted to board gaming so I'm working on a card game instead of coding vidya.
>>716235675Does this hurt the NPC?
Anyway here's Fygoon's Chamber or, to the layman, his bedroom. This room is pretty neat since the weapon rack now evolves based on what weapons the player has obtained for their save file. The clock in the room is also functional and is based on your computer's current time but with a twist: the Frydarian day, though it consists of 24 hours, is divided into three parts, each having three hours: Morning, Day, and Night. With that being said, each tsas (or hour) is comprised of 60 remnut (or minutes), which are composed of 60 mesgund (seconds); simply put, time works exactly the same on Frydar Island as it does here, but they don't use AM or PM.
Finally here's the dungeons in the basement. Since Fygoon and his friends are living in the Age of Peace, it's completely empty. Enemies of the Frydarian crown that once inhabited and were rightfully tortured in these halls have long since decomposed into mere skeletons, their supporters none the wiser to their fate. There's nothing really noteworthy down here, and there are far more interesting places to explore in the basement (training hall, treasury, and the Doom Dragon's lair).
>>716235890They just get sent to the farm, don't worry :)
>>716231758Everything pretty much happens on an async (uvloop) queue. I have worker pool available for CPU intensive tasks. I'm not an algorithm chad but for neighbor checks: tiles, objects are in an r-tree, and network players, npcs, monsters in a spatial hash where players are subscribers for neighbor updates. I have few other "managers" like the SIEM, which we can flag to run on a thread or a different process.

>>716232662>looks oka...>furfaggotNevermind.
>>716246915The lightning bolt is a spell and the robot is weak to it. Because it's weak to lightning, it puts the robot in an "exposed state" (where the red ! appears). If an enemy is exposed, the next basic attack turns into an addition which does more damage than a basic attack. I haven't done a lot of balancing yet so damage and stats are WIP.

Is there any place with nintendo64 ripped models with animations?
There are models I don't think any of them have animations https://www.models-resource.com/nintendo_64/
Also which style is the easiest to 3d model? I don't want minecraft like blocky characters. Is there some middle ground between just blocks and human like?
>>716247228>Also which style is the easiest to 3d model? I don't want minecraft like blocky characters. Is there some middle ground between just blocks and human like?yeah, normal shapes but with the arms not being attached to the model. Makes animation way easier since you don't have to worry about deformations. Many old games did the same.
>>716247228Chibi style might work for you. There's tons of gachas that have it either 2D or 3D and since they're all in Unity you can easily rip the files yourself. Just get an android emulator with the game, copy game directory over and run the various extractor programs.

I'm still continuing to learn Pixel Game Maker and I'm convinced that I'll be able to make a game in it. Trying to wrap my brain around game resolution, camera resolution, and making sure assets look right on different size screens. Like if I have my camera as 960x540 it'll distort the pixel art on a 1280x720 display but it'll look fine on 1920x1080. 640x360 apparently scales up to all the common display sizes fine though but I already made some pixel art assets that are slightly too big for it. My character has to be smaller and less detailed unless I want them taking up a lot of the screen in other words. But maybe I'm not understanding things right and need to dick around with things more.

While it might just be me, I think the lion's design would look better if you made his mane almost appear as if it was a part of his beard (you know, give him a flowing mustache too); but perhaps my idea of anthropomorphism is not the same as yours. I say lean into the AI bit. JRPGs are a dime a dozen, but if you can explain how the AI enhances your story (and how your game isn't AI sloppa) then you can stand out.
Also lean harder on making the characters look like paper puppets; I swear, it will turn your game from looking like a cheap Toon Boom animation to SOVL.

Want to actually be good? Unironically start with C. Then once you've mastered it, move on to C++
Check /g/ every once in a while, they have occasional threads on learning to code, and once in a blue moon a /ccct/ thread for chads.
>>716259808>>716279819Thread is dead as usual. Less than 20 posts in the past 4 hours. Sad to see that even the long breaks where it's not constantly being posted hasn't turned things around.
I'm almost done with my game. Just one chapter and the endings left.
>>716242506Fuck off, rotatetranny. You just don't have it in you to make anything worthwhile.
>>716295818eurobros are sleeping/working, plus a lot of progress got posted earlier in the threat
is it possible to make ue5 run super light? what are some key pitfalls preventing that?
>>716296338When I was working with UE5 I basically disabled all the "new" features (nanite, etc)
>>716296338>UE5gonna stop you right there
unless your game needs mega GWAFICS faggotry, pick a different engine
it will run better and be smaller in filesize
UE5 is overkill for indies unless they are doing something with super-realistic graphics
>>716296921>don't use that engine it's too much >it's too big and powerful>it's overkillThis is what drives people to use Unreal.
>>716296338>is it possible to make the heavyweight engine super light?the answer you want to hear is potentially yes, the answer you need to hear is "why?"
>>716296338Epic gives the source code away for free. Not only can you disable bloat, you can modify the engine and make your own custom build. Probably more sensible to just uncheck some boxes though.
>there was a time not that making an indie game that wasn't completely rancid would make you wealthy
>just had to get greenlit on steam or something and not make something terrible
>could promote and market the game by making a couple twitter posts to real people (not bots) who actually played games maybe even just post on 4chan
>that was now over a decade ago
>>716294007>>716294829Why the sudden hate against bad neighbourhood? Is the elite against smudge games? Why? Don't they love whore and of?
>>716297789one is corporate, the other isn't
this only affects indie devs, not the corpos who churn out a bunch of smut games
>>716297697Weird how nowadays indie games have publishers to deal with some of these problems, making them technically not indie
>>716297932Well indie devs had publishers back then too but more importantly they were just a small group and the competition was 1/100th of what it as now. Now indie game is a label given to games made by studios with hundreds of people, with investors and publishers and multiple offices. I can't make sense of it.
We was robbed.
>>716297697Oh and actually because greenlight was a thing if you made a game and published it even in early access it was going to be seen by millions of people. Maybe not purchased but definitely seen. There was like one landing page for new release indie games and even the dinkiest games were featured there and the whole world would see it. Imagine getting that visibility now with zero effort to marketing. Just click publish on steam and boom instant mass exposure.
Lads, I don't know whether I should just put my first project down. It's still in its infancy, but I think people might simply ignore yet another super mario clone.
Back to the drawing board and create a vampire survivor clone? Are they faster produced?
>>716235536Just remember when people shit on you and review bomb your game they're not a bunch of 4chan haters; they're punishing you for being a huge fucking asshole for years and years. Just thought I'd let you know in advance. And yes, you do deserve it.
>>716265628A in GCSE math :)
>>716220264 (OP)A Populous: The Beginning remake/spiritual successor. I loved this game as a kid, still do. I have a modifiable voxel planet with an animated ocean and basic terraforming tools. Textures look like shit tho
>>716296921i mainly want to mess with open-world streaming because i want to import some terrain i've made in houdini without putting it all in ram at the same time.
>>716294007reddit blames conservatives for some fucking reason when the group doing this shit identifies itself as feminists. It's the same people as Sarkeesian and the game journos
>>716273292Why is the game called pogs, when the pog gameplay is such a small part? It's more of a 90s simulator than a pog game
>>716299659And you're doing the same thing, they are self-proclaimed conservatives but you just simplify it to "leftie women"
