Tony hawk games got progressively more mechanicaly dense all the way up to American Wasteland. So by that alone American Wasteland is best out of all of them.

It's actually impressive how they balls up these sorta details. Game thankfully plays fine enough, thanks Vicarious Visions for providing a solid base, but 4's levels really don't suit a 2 minute timer, the new levels are all pretty crap, the soundtrack choices baffle me and it's missing stuff from the old games anyway. Great job Iron Galaxy.

4 is the best because it blends the timed run into free skate perfectly.

Tony Hawk's Underground is the best in the franchise because you can get off your board for positioning which is a critical common aspect of Skateboarding.

The forced timer makes the other games unplayable once you have done away with it.
I cannot be refuted because any argument made will be made under the false pretense that Tony Hawk's Underground isn't the best in the franchise, which is an inherently wrong opinion, making you factually wrong.

Everyone is just gonna pick whichever game they grew up playing. I grew up playing Proskater 4 and loved it. Zoo level was epic, Kona skatepark was fun, Jango Fett + Moon Gravity creating an infinite jetpack trick.

Like shit it does. It destroys replayability by making you do each task one by one (which are all timed anyway), whereas in prior games you'd gain mastery over a level and know the route to clear all the goals in a single session by the time you finished with all skaters.

Getting off your board doesn't need to exist in an arcade skateboarding series, and in the free skate games its a shitty solution to problems with approaching NPCs and the lack of a custom restart system.

if you specifically mean all the ps1 -> ps2 games up to AW are worth playing that's one thing but you need to be specific, the n64 versions are always shit, the pc versions are always broken and need lots of fixes, but those are just ports, however the ps1 versions of 3/4 are different games (using thps1/2 base with the new maps/mechanics of 3/4 backported) are those worth playing? what about the portables
and while portable thps aren't worth playing, portable thug2 (thug2 remix) definitely is worth playing, despite being a bit of a meme control-wise its additions are good
