The chapters came too late after 90% of the doujin scene got dominated by gachashit/vtubershit. There's virtually zero chance for actual anime/manga to get content now with most artists being monopolized by those two things. The Monster Musume anime was fortunate enough to air before that shift happened, which is why we get lots of art of the main girls. But even if a season 2 miraculously came out now, I doubt we'd see a very big boost in art for any new characters. Also monstergirls in general shit the bed and no longer appeal to normalfags, Monmusu S1 was the peak of their popularity.
