Portraits don't help either, giving a bundle of stats a face or a name really humanizes them in your mind.

you're supposed to reclass your characters a few times in SoSC. You can grab a couple useful skills with super early reclasses, then get your characters to level ~15 to pick up some other useful skills, and switch to your endgame class when you have the important stuff.
But don't go overboard. If you try to get high level skills before reclassing you'll end up playing the whole game in the first class.

I've been playing it for a few months and consulting with the /vg/ thread pretty regularly. It's a good game and a lot of fun at first, but once you enter the current endgame/grind territory it gets pretty stale. I'm strictly F2P since I've had bad habits in the past when it comes to breaking the pay-barrier of gacha games, and I was unable to pull a banner character recently after 56 attempts which is so far the worst luck I've had in the game, so I think I'm just gonna drop it for a while.

Character models and animations are genuinely spectacular, though. Whoever is their animation team is definitely pouring everything they've got into this and it shows.
