Honest thoughts on Resident Evil 2 Remake?

It's my personal game of the year for 2019. I liked it a lot. The atmosphere was perfect and I liked the re-imagined police station that was still familiar to me as a fan of the original RE2.

Unfortunately the Part 2 Playthrough or whatever was just an abridged version of your Part 1 Playthrough with different cutscenes. But that didn't bother me too much.

I loved it when I first played it, then RE3 remake happened and it soured me. Then I went back and replayed all of the original RE titles and realized how much RE2 and 3 actually fucked up and don't compare to the originals, then I played the RE4 remake demo and fought the first ganado and was offended by how they changed the encounter and Leon's personality and decided to never play the full release ever in my life.

We are now here and I'm expecting RE9 to somehow be total shit and I'm still hoping they just re-release the old titles because I'd rather play those with achievements than any more new entries.

It was the only horror game to give me actual nightmares in a long, long time ... nothing after it hits close, the atmosphere is amazing. RE3 shoulda cooked for another year or two for a proper release, instead of a glorified DLC - RE2 was brilliant. Except not giving the guy any weapons - Claire gets a grenade launcher, the dude gets 3 pistols & a shotgun :/

I disliked it at first but after I stopped being a pussy and learnt the game I find it quite enjoyable.

You're content with them making a new game and calling it literally "Resident Evil 4" instead of subtitling it remake or something and the new version being a complete replacement and retcon of the original. You are not a fan of the original games, you are a fan of the remakes, and should fuck off.

I still prefer the original 1998 game. Remake was lacking in the soundtrack department, even with some of the original composers back.

It's fine. It's not the original, it's not inherently better than the original, and even does some things worse, but at the same time on its own merits it's solid so long as you don't got a bitch in your ear about the dynamic difficulty. In the age of tortanic 4chanism shit where you're either the most legendary thing ever, coomer gacha, or some sort of failure, the remakes get way too much autism as the poster boy targets for this shit.
