Do you think the people who make pics like this actually play these games? Asking because it's almost universally screenshots from the beginnings of these games.

And you need to stop confusing existential dread with schizophrenia, Anon. Just because someone voices a basic human yearning doesnโ€™t mean they're off their rocker. Not everyone here is memeing 24/7-some of us actually remember when games (and life) had direction.

A raspberry pi can output analogue, so I use one for that.
I watch a toonami stream on mine and occasionally put discord on it to watch a friend's stream when I am playing a game where I can't sacrifice the frames for a stream.

nobody did this.
crts rarely have flat tops, and even when they do it's EXTREMELY easy to pull on the controller plug and the entire thing falls down and both the console and disc inside of it are completely destroyed.
those pictures are so incredibly fake and fabricated for clout it makes me angry whenever they pop up

I don't take images like that but I do currently have a CRT next to my desk with a modded xbox, PS3, Gamecube and PS2 as well as a SNES with a flashcart hooked up to it. Oh actually I lied, I did take a photo of the DKC2 100% clear screen, but that's because I hadn't figured out how to get my Diamond VC500 to work in OBS at the time. now I just use that to take screenshots to share on here and to stream my games to discord to my friends

I'm pretty happy with mine. I own one that is more or less the same model in the OP, but it's actually an SSMโ€”the security monitor version of it that's in a lighter-colored case. It has the same CRT as that PVM.

The greeting card-quality speaker built into it isn't worth a damn, but I use it at a desk anyways, so I have speakers nearby.
Great monitor for old 4:3 games over S-video, coax or composite in my experience, but 3:4 stuff is unfortunately not as great since the curve of the glass is a bit hard to ignore in portrait.
