After playing through Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness back to back, I can safely say they're genuinely great games and a good translation of the series to 3D whose reputation got ruined by retarded ecelebs that suck at video games. Bonus points for having actual vampires to fuck up and even some spoopy moments. As rough as C64 it is, I still believe it should be played first for the full experience, if only because experiencing a classicvania without a whip-wielding chad first is just wrong, and mostly because Cornell is a bit too overpowered for most of the game. The camera and controls in the original aren't that bad either, any problems stem mostly from the automatic camera being forced into awkward angles and some ridiculously precise jumps, which thankfully were fixed in LoD.
>>716246193 (OP)It got mediocre reviews upon release. It needs a better camera system and controls, and it'd be much better to play.
>>716246530they got mediocre reviews because they were mediocre gmaes
Does it have a good Halloween atmosphere? I might save my first playthrough for this October.
>>716246193 (OP)>got ruined by retarded ecelebs that suck at video games. They got ruined by atrocious controls.
>>716251146I wish. The games are just a bit shit and have always been recognized as a bit shit.
>>716246193 (OP)A few bits of 64 make me prefer to replay it via Legacy of Dorkness. I know Legacy is missing some things from the original 64. I'm kind of glad.
>>716246193 (OP)People believe these games are bad because AVGN is bad at them and they only know about them through him.
>>716246319>It got mediocre reviews upon releaseNo it didn't, it got >80% everywhere.
>>716246193 (OP)I agree but you don't need to play Castlevania 64 since both those games are also included in Legacy of Darkness.
>>716246193 (OP)>Legacy of DarknessHow different is it? I liked 64 but the second half kinda blew chunks. Youtubed it and it looks like it reuses a lot of levels
