Yes Vergil can just evaporate a team with level 3 XFactor solo but so can most top tiers. Virgil just does it better, get gud. Zero's lightning loops and Morrigan's soul fist spam were a bigger detriment to the game overall than Virgil.

X factor should have been nerfed in the following way

The game is really fun already as is, unbalanced mess and all, even the shitty characters are mostly cool and fun to play they just can't really compete with the top tiers when played optimally, and the scene is small enough at this point that just a few guys playing the best teams can make shit really stale
Ratio is a nice solution because it doesn't fuck up either the good characters with nerfs of the bad characters with buffs that might make them less fun despite being stronger but still makes every character valuable, because suddenly you have to care about low tier + high tier synergies and shit.

to be fair characters that just happen to be MCU'd also happen to be most deserving to be in MvC like Punisher and Daredevil. If every comic book character comes to the mcu, the lines would be blurred for who should be favored by Capcom. The real worry is how much the aesthetic would be influenced from MCU. This can go into how much a repeat of Infinite would Capcom be dumb enough to try and replicate.

Yeah, the character choice is less of a problem than the presentation, I agree.
Capcom very clearly favors realism now and I find that both incredibly bland and incredibly ugly at the same time. RE Engine or REX Engine or whatever, I don't trust them to make a good looking game today.
