In a sense of creativity maybe but they're still coming out.

it's a dead genre. a corpse that is being strung along by trannies and sunk cost fallacy autismos

>it's another world of warcraft clone focusing on raidtrannies exclusively
>it's another self-proclaimed MMO that focuses only on 4 player content (but you can see all the people idling in the lobby so that means it's an mmo)
the kind of tired that sleep cannot fix

It's been a dying genre for a long time. You all need to abandon the fantasy that it just needs something with the right mechanics or the right polish to produce another generation defining game. Wowclones are the best the genre could do and it'll never be as big as in its heyday again.

I'm a 35yo boomer and I wish I played WoW way back in the day. Feels like I missed out on something magical

gacha games like genshin pushing into the mainstream are also another nail in the coffin for mmorpgs. They fundamentally serve the same demographic, which is losers who want a virtual world they can grind or whale in to become badass. Except you cannot compete with the content cadence of gacha games because the successful ones make way more money with their monetization model.

Literally https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Internet_theory

People do NOT want to bother talking to people while playing a game. Group finder and social media killed the whole point of MMOs. If nobody interacts among each other in your mmo then what's the point.

This issue has also been increasing in games like CS2 I remember a time where people were more talkative in voice chat.
