Now that Civ6 is completely done in terms of new content, how does it compare to Civ5?

Civilization V doesn't have Pingala's face in it, making it the objectively superior title.

More content but less planned to fit together.
Worse music but its my taste. Also it changes with ages.
Districts make the game less about turning the planet into farming zone, but force meta knowledge and planning how you end game since turn 1.
Characters look like a ironic Pixar production.
Wonders as narrated art works better than soulless 3D.
The quotes fucking suck.

i enjoy civ6. districts are w/e but i like the civics. the graphics have, well, not grown on me, but they don't really bother me much. i'm a scrub who plays on baby difficulty for all civ games because i just want comfy civ building so for that civ 6 is just fine. i'm trying to get into old world since it's on sale. it's got the whole social whatever stuff which is fine, although i'm not sure how much i like it.

good timing in the thread, though, i was searching the archives last night to see if there are any good civ6 mods that people recommend, QoL or otherwise, so if anyone has suggestions, i'd be grateful.

I like 6 a little more than 5 now. Will 7 ever be redeemable I wonder?

I used to play Civ 2, 3 and 4 when I was a kid. I booted up 6 because it was free on EGS and I gotta be honest, I don't know what the fuck is going on. Did my attention spam just go to shit or does the series have a ton of feature creep?

Not unless they completely fucking redo the game to not make it a Humankind clone.

Civ6 had a pretty rocky start, it was nice seeing the updates gradually turn it into a great game, but man, does the last season pass and final updates really fucked the game up and dragged down it's overall quality

all the season pass leaders have visibly much cheaper quality than the mainline/expansion ones had. They are poorly balanced too, stuff like gauls are broken like crazy
also all the new generic units they added fuck up the game's balance. Shit like everyone having such a cheap and easy access to menatarms completely fucks up early/mid game warmongering as it's so easy for anyone to just shit out a few menatarms and repel the attacks even if they didn't spend anything on military previously

it's so weird because it really felt like the devs put a bunch of thought into the balance updates before this last season, and they suddenly throw all that shit out of the window. I'm pretty sure a new skeleton team was added to handle this last season of civ6 while the new team moved on to 7 (then again, why is 7 so lame too)

Civ 5 and 6 are both good but indifferent ways. But civ 5 with the vp mod still has the best AI in this entire franchise. If unpaid molders could achieve something like this, Imagine how much better civ 7 would be if they only made minor incremental changes to 6 and instead spent most of their budget on AI.

If I was a conspiracy theorist I would say that they might have released a dogshit patch for 6 in the hopes that people feel more inclined to try 7 instead.
They wouldn't be the first tech company to engage in a little planned obsolescence.

It's still completely retarded. AI cannot do 1upt.
