All techno thriller stories are the same. Fisher's kit isn't too extravagant, and he doesn't deal with social stealth, so I don't see what angle they could leverage for an animated show. Unless we get the original vision for Conviction.
All that said, I'll give it a pirate if they contract Amon Tobin.

One of my first memories of Splinter Cell is from one of the earliest PS2 games and I was watching my brother play it and it was so fucking dark it was nearly pitch black on screen. Like you couldn't see jack shit without the night vision. I can't remember the last time I saw a game that dark.

The issue is that it was designed as a cover shooter, and as such the whole games detection system is a mess because of the game direction, there's no real consequence to getting detected unless you're playing on the hardest difficulty. Everything was designed upon hugging walls like this.

I just want more Splinter Cell gameplay, so a remake that plays itself faithful while also giving themselves an excuse to change the map layouts/objectives is enough for me. Graphical remasters bore me. SC1 was pretty linear in its layouts anyways.

I just want Splinter Cell to return to its roots. If Ubisoft are still going ahead with the remake they need to ditch all the other stuff that older fans never wanted. Seconding intravenous for finding out why, ive played it to death recently, and merely thinking back at Blacklist makes it clear how poor SC:BL and SC:C are at "stealth-action", let alone playing them.
