>play game with "fixed" main character
>can't get into main character
>make up extra lore about them that explains their in-game persona better
>when my personal lore for the character conflicts with character's behavior in-game, ignore the latter and enforce my personal lore
Does anyone else do this? I swear I have more fun doing it than playing the actual game sometimes. I love the Witcher series but sometimes find Geralt boring and contradictory as he's depicted in the games (not the books), so I gave him a different backstory in my head that explains him better. I also pretend he's not such a simp for sorceresses and doesn't beg them to hang out with him, he just likes fucking them. I also gave Skif in Stalker 2 a better backstory and reason for caring that an artifact blew up his shitty apartment.
