Shit writing? I find that in most of their games, they have one or two good writers who write minor worldbuilding and then the incompetent ones get the major worldbuilding and main plot. Some of the sidequests are well written and some of the lore of minor characters is interesting, but the main characters are flat and the main plot is idiotic.
