I'm going to play Deus Ex for the first time on PS5, and never play the PC version, and there's nothing you can do to stop me.

I already played Max Payne 1+2 on Xbox and Half-Life 1+2 on PS2/360. PC games are more comfy on consoles, on your couch, with a controller, and not having to constantly troubleshoot and download patches for a barely functioning 20+ year old port.

Don't let the haters stop you, you're playing it the way it's meant to be played

Sounds like a skill issue, but I'm cheering for you!

You know what else we can't stop you from doing? Realizing that Invisible War is underrated.

is this the new dmc2 > dmc3, or the fallout 3 > new vegas
meme?

The PS2 port of Deus Ex is very, very good.

I heard they split a lot of levels into smaller chunks and simplified HP system I don't mind the latter.
Why not just play the PC version? loading screen sucks.

The main problem with Invisible War is the script. People forgive VTMB its countless flaws because they dig the story and characters. If IW had at least delivered in the narrative department, I think more players would war to it. But the dialogue is mostly dry, flavourless, and boring, while the story is a clumsy attempt to continue from the first game's dead-end.

DX PS2 version is very inferior to the PC version but has some unique map elements. The PC version is the best version by a long shot.

>PC games are more comfy on consoles, on your couch, with a controller, and not having to constantly troubleshoot and download patches for a barely functioning 20+ year old port.

That's okay but DX works fine on Win7 and it's trivial to set up a pirated XP install just for old games.

I really don't understand how Pacotti wrote both games.

I have no quarrels with PC games getting a good console port. Gen 6 had some really cool ports. I respect OP. Now tell me about the resolution

A good console port also preserves a lot of nuance that the game had. They provide a finite state for the game. Ports are just that, ports, but technology will change but console games will always stay the same. Half Life 2 is so much different now from what it was like back when it released and dipshit zoomers don’t realize that. Unless zoomers watch some faggot’s video essay, they aren’t ever going to realize that. It’s those little details, the ones you’d miss playing with the “ultra high-res texture pack”, 4k internal resolution, High poly, and improved physics with Police SUV. It doesn’t represent the true appearance of the game: the way it looked on launch so the game’s sensitive details are overlooked because of it.

You should also play Morrowind on the OG Xbox, way better than the PC tard version.

Want to tell me something I don’t know, retard? Why do you think all your old games on steam have blown up in size in recent years?

PS4/PS5's emulator for the PS2 version has near instant loads, and a locked framerate, fortunately. Only thing I've yet to see is whether or not it still supports KB&M like the original PS2 release.

I've replayed invisible war more times. You can make different builds easier and the faction thing, while a bit simplistic, does enable a bit more variety. Plus the hard shadows and lighting look cool.

IW is one of the last truly "imsim jank" games in the genre.
For fun, go do this: at the area of mako ballistics that you start from if you didn't pay for sid(the dumpster area), start grabbing and stacking shit on the dumpsters until you can use it to reach the top of the wall.
Congrats, you can now drop out of map bounds and see they didn't even bother trying to stop you, fill it in with something that looks nice like terrain or "stuff in the distance", etc.

Didn't play Conspiracy and Invisible War because can't play PC games with mouse/keyboard (wrist issues) and didn't have the patience to get Xbox emulator to work for second game.

I actually bought the second game on Xbox not realizing it won't work on Series X, so giving it away to local game store. I'm not about to buy an original Xbox just to play one game.

I did play the rest and working on the final one on my Steam Deck, The Fall.

My only question is I have a PS5. Is Conspiracy REALLY worth $14 on PS store?!

Apparently the PS2 port of Deus Ex is pretty good anyway. You'll just have to deal with smaller zones and more loading screens.

The PS2 version is actually quite good considering the hardware limitations they had to put up with.
I just never liked the character models.
