It's time to bring back the Ultima series.

You DO have 4 megabytes of ram, don't you?

I played the NES Ultima when I was a little kid. I didn't care for it. I tried playing various other Ultima games over the years and they never clicked. I have no desire to attempt to play them again.

Meanwhile I can site and watch Spoony or Manjuular's Ultima retrospectives and be completely captivated by the lore and insanity of the setting.

The gameplay of Ultima is the worst part of the series.

I'm normally resistant to the butchering of all that is old, and I'd merely cringe at most of what I'd expect from EA, but I fear I'd have an aneurysm the second I heard some "witty" NPC mock the quest and make fun of the concept of Virtues, and I have no doubt it would happen in a remake.
Idealism and sincere belief in the potential goodness of all men aren't very "cool" nowadays. But then again, they aren't very popular on this site either, so perhaps this post is pointless.

But now villains being actually good guys is a common trope.
