They absolutely could outdo this AI stuff, and plenty of classic titles from the past absolutely have, but they aren't now because they only chase trends and cry victim anytime someone criticizes. They don't question the basic assumptions involved in design and so everything looks the same. They look too much to each other instead of out into the unknown. They are afraid to explore. I spit on their roguelike.
