15 had pretty basic combat but a more expansive world.
16 had more advanced combat but felt pretty constrained.
7 Remake proves they CAN do it, and probably only worked because of a culmination of effort and ideas from those two games. All they have to do is control the fucking budget and figure out how to make the game work while still being Final Fantasy. Worst case scenario is that it turns into DMC with the FF brand.

Lmao, not my job to figure it out. But hey, I'll be optimistic and believe there IS a way to blend RPG elements and action shit together in a way that makes sense and complement each other. When Square figures that out, it'll be smooth sailing. At this point, FF is more than just "turn based games". So the question really is: What is FF? The spirit? And how do we evolve the gameplay to transcend that definition and spirit? If you ask me, it always seemed like FF wanted to be cinematic and dramatic, so it turning into a spectacle action based game makes perfect sense to me. I genuinely cannot see why others would bitch about it unless they're one of those schizo manchildren who just hate the idea of change like a bunch of autists, even though SE was ALWAYS about trying to flex on others, be it through visuals, gameplay or whatever. I haven't played E33 but I don't think it'll be anything worthwhile. For some reason shadow drops of games that "look high budgeted" usually get pretty popular quickly but fade just as fast. Hell, look at Hifi Rush. People claimed to love that game, now no one really mentions it. This entire debacle will blow over by the end of the year, and if I know Square suits, they'll try to ape E33 because they're retards who don't know how to handle their own company, which has been historically shown many times over.
