This is the best console ever made. An infinite wellspring of actual games, no cinematic movie bullshit.

It's good, Nintendo's best for sure, but PlayStation completely blew it away. Also the genre selection is limited.

No one would think it at the time, because that's all they knew.

Deranged nonsense. NES is majority a platform action console, very little selection of note outside of this.

If your threshold for "cinematic movie bullshit" was being threatened by hardware from the 90s, you're quite possibly retarded.

My threshold is a "game" being mostly cutscenes. That and really boring introductions before the actual gameplay starts.

Yeah and if you think the SNES is where the tipping point was then you might have brain damage. The only things there you could maybe swing as "more cutscene than gameplay" are a handful of JRPGs. You clearly just have something against even the barest implication that games aren't solely about pushing buttons to make characters do things.

I didn't say that. The corruption had already begun, but it was mostly benign by then. By Metal Gear Solid however the writing was on the wall, movieshit was the future, normalfag cattle simply couldn't get enough.

Yeah and there it is, you're bitching that any game has a decent amount of cutscenes rather than going off of a ratio like you implied a few posts ago. You hate the concept of story in games.
>but it's objectively bad, the purpose of games is pushing buttons and making things happen NOW NOW NOW
Sure buddy.

>The Family Computer/Nintendo Entertainment System has a library of 1376 officially licensed games released during their lifespans, plus 7 official multicarts and 2 championship cartridges. Of these, 672 were released exclusively in Japan, 187 were released exclusively in North America, and 19 were released exclusively in PAL countries. Worldwide, 521 games were released.

Goddamn you are one dumb fucking idiot. I guess over a thousand might as well be infinite for such a feeble mind.

If anyone is thinking itโ€™s too late for them and that these games are too old or you canโ€™t enjoy them bc you tried for a little bit and it felt awful etc etc, just give it a little bit more time.

I thought I didnโ€™t like 8-bit games but when you actually go in and commit to beating one, it can change your perspective.

Go beat Castlevania 1, anon. You can do it. Itโ€™ll change you. Donโ€™t use save states. Keep restarting until you can beat the game in one sitting. It only takes a few hours.

>This is the best console ever made. An infinite wellspring of actual games

This always feels like such a tortured metric, because for every invaluable classic, there's dozens of games rendered useless by their successors. Every golf game is rendered obsolete by PGA Golf. Every racing game rendered obsolete by Top Gear. Every flight sim rendered obsolete by Turn and Burn. Every arcade port obsoleted by itself. Entire genres disappear because the newer games are more worthwhile for the QoL changes alone. No one's revisiting the NES to play 8-bit poker, soduku, Jeopardy, or some shit like that. And no one wants to play some movie tie-in game over just replaying Mario or Castlevania again.
