If you were to make a game where the player could turn and view things from another angle, they would cease to look like flat sprites being viewed from one angle and the scene would no longer look like this

The style itself does not follow any rules which would allow for objects to be rotated, since every single frame of rotation would require a new minimal artistic interpretation of the object to be invented from scratch which would not be consistent with the previous frame
