Witcher 3 needed a skill tree like God of War, Horizon, Wukong and all those kind of games, by creating a skill tree like this it will allow the player to unlock more movesets and skills which can keep the combat more interesting over the time, because enemy variety in Witcher 3 was pretty good, the bosses are unique and varied even if they were easy.
Witcher 3 combat has two main issue basically, one is the controls which are weird and janky, the second is the lack of combat input variety, you are always going to do light and heavy attack with parry and using the same 5 signs, if they spread that and added a little bit more it would work better. OR alternatively they can shorten the game length.
You can say the gameplay ammunition were gone before you reach the end which is a common problem for a lot of games, but here its even more obvious.
I still think it has better combat than a many of /v/'s favorite games though.
