It looks flashy and cool, but it's actually very shallow and repititive
even on highest difficulty it was really boring, just a matter of not getting one shot

No, it was garbage. Honestly the most overrated game of all time. Nothing compares to how much this gets glazed by normalfags despite being mediocre/bad in most aspects.

It's fine. Never the main appeal of the series and it does it the best. When you get to B&W you can make some fun busted builds.

Dropped the game because of it. I wanted to force myself to finish it on hard but it was just so painfully dogshit.
I dont know what made someone make a great game like that, and then phone it in with one of the most important aspects of it.

The combat is simple, which is good for me (contrast to GoW where you have to memorise combos) but the combat is not the meat of the game, that will be the stories you find along the way. All in all good game. BaW is peak.

for 2/3 of the game? not really
it actually got neat at the DLCs once i had a lot more new skills AND had unlocked most of the perks. The issue is that the game takes way too fucking long to get anywhere & give you the new features

It should have simply progressed like 3-5 times faster instead of half of the game being M1M1M1M1M1. At least the bombs helped a lot

TW3 really should have given you these skill points earlier. It takes so long to be able to get this alongside the overhead and some better signs

To be fair, it's sort of like how it was in W2. Combat is the easiest to pick up but has the lowest ceiling. That's why most people put points into the vitality regenerating general abilities before going into Fast Attacks. Next are signs which don't git gud until you have enough stamina and sign intensity to make it work consistently. Finally there's alchemy which is the hardest to figure out but has the highest reward for using them.

It doesn't help that L1L1L1L1L1 is dogshit gameplay and most players don't know axii sign provides finishers against enemies with full health so players end up crutching on quen. It's not a good look.

Yeah the game is too long for the amount of new gameplay mechanics that get introduced, you as a Master Witcher already got everything with you and just need the gimmicky levels to unlock them, but all the tools are right there for you from the start, all the signs, all the tools, all the weapons, all the moves, everything.

Witcher 3 needed a skill tree like God of War, Horizon, Wukong and all those kind of games, by creating a skill tree like this it will allow the player to unlock more movesets and skills which can keep the combat more interesting over the time, because enemy variety in Witcher 3 was pretty good, the bosses are unique and varied even if they were easy.

Witcher 3 combat has two main issue basically, one is the controls which are weird and janky, the second is the lack of combat input variety, you are always going to do light and heavy attack with parry and using the same 5 signs, if they spread that and added a little bit more it would work better. OR alternatively they can shorten the game length.

You can say the gameplay ammunition were gone before you reach the end which is a common problem for a lot of games, but here its even more obvious.

I still think it has better combat than a many of /v/'s favorite games though.

>because enemy variety in Witcher 3 was pretty good, the bosses are unique and varied even if they were easy.
the problem with TW3 enemy variety is that, despite having too many enemies, they fight very similary
on the DLCs it really gets better, the burrowing worms, the spiders that kite you, stuff like that

> /v/'s favorite games though.
/v/ has a hate boner against 90% of games with actually good combat in the last decade

Rend was so ass to use because the only way to reliably stun was either through counterattacks, which are limited to humans, or bombs, which are a limited resource. It being tied to stamina meant that using axii is out of the question. But I do agree, once it hits, it fuckin' HITS.
