Animal Crossing is one of the most child friendly games to make it big in the world. There's nothing to censor at this point, even the bluntest edges have been smoothed to the point where they're like polished ball bearings. The only thing even noted to upset people was Resetti, who scared Japanese children so he was made optional in NL and removed from NH. Potentially controversial villager designs haven't appeared since DNM+.

The chat thing is a valid concern given how much they've reduced communication freedom between the 3DS and Switch generation, but given how many games have chat and the fact they've done nothing about it even in the face of the new features on the S2, I doubt it's in danger.
