>>716351850 (OP) the standard f2p model require a lot of players and those players need to spend money which obviously doesn't work out as well for fighting games, not helped by the fact that developing a new character is usually more expensive than other genres which makes near impossible to make the whole roster free
>>716351850 (OP) how do you monetize a f2p fighting game? cosmetics would change the appearance and would be considered p2w? can't sell character slots. do you sell characters? so it's p2w to have the op fotm characters?
>>716351850 (OP) Fighting games are just antiquated. They're games that require hours of investment to have fun and there's nothing to do besides practicing. Most people don't have the patience for that when video games are supposed to be fun. Add in characters being better than others or lack of content or insane amounts of micro transactions and you can see why it's a dead genre.

>>716357569 fighting games quite literally do all those things right now so I don't see how a f2p one could not do it
>>716351850 (OP) because F2P games are overwhelmingly catering to low iq and low drive individuals that cant accept being at fault for a loss and fighting games select for the opposite
