Vintage Thread.
>what world settings you change
>what mods you use
I disable rifts and increase tool durability.
I use mods to zoom view and 'carry on'.

Ohhh FUUUUUUUCCKKKk a vintage thread?

Animal cages - adds medium cages so you can trap pigs n shit.
auto map markers - automatically marks stuff on your map if you interact with it, e.g: harvest resin? marked on the map (super configurable with changing the icons and what does/doesn't get marked)
Better firepit - literally just fixes a bug / tyrones retarded idea, makes it so item temp doesn't reset when 1 item from the stack is 'cooked'
better ruins - adds 600+ new ruins to the game, ranging from dungeons to castles to waypoints to just cool stuff, absolutely wicked.
carry on - lets you pick up containers that have items, super handy for early game when you're moving storage vessels around.
QPChisel tools - adds more functions to the chisel stuff, absolute timesaver, always in every one of my saves.
>Fauna of the Stone Age
This is a 'group' of mods, has like 20+ you can download, just adds stone age animals like wooly mammoths, sabre tooth cats, rhinos, etc.
golden combs - amazing bee mod, adds a lot of stuff to do with hives n shit
smithing+ - just makes smithing overall better, lets you reclaim a portion of bits from material removal on forging
stone Quarry - amazing mod, lets you craft stone plugs to take out giant slabs of stone so you can get smooth stone in big quantities, high material investment early bc it requires a good bit of metals
verticality - lets you climb upwards of 3 blocks, 4 if you charge jump and time it properly

>xSkills
I've been messing w/ this, adds skills to grind, kinda like OSRS? I guess? but you can 'choose' perks with perk points

That's me vintage list, there's a few others I'll list in a reply in a sec but they're not that important

Some of the other mods would be:
Player corpses -just adds a corpse where you died, like the grave mod for minecraft. I only added it initially because my HDD kept taking forever to load chunks so I lost items a few times.
Juicy ores - just makes ores a little more 'visible' by making the 'ore' protrude from the faces a bit.
Glowing arrows - arrows ain't cheap bro.
nail mold - FUCK forging nails
arrow head mold - FUCK forging arrow heads (still have to forge iron+ since you can't melt it...)
rivers - i fucked up the setup but it adds rivers to your world gen...which apparently do have a 'flow' direction?
Yeah that's about it.

Vintage is a fire fuckin game, I personally think my mod list is pretty vanilla+ friendly. Doesnt' do too much crazy shit and just adds ontop of systems that are already there.

>auto map markers
This one seems useful without wrecking the game.

It's really really handy. I don't thinnk any of the ones I use wreck the game, maybe stone quarry is a bit strong but they're all mostly just time reducers, you still have to do the things but it just takes less time, once you've tried to quarry out 500 stone which requires you to actually mine 2000 stone in total, it's a bit soul killing.

I think I could get really into this game but I want it to be a finished product before I drop 300h into it. If it's not at a 1.0 release I'm gonna drop that much time and never come back to it even if it gets a ton of updates
I guess I'll just have to wait for 2030 to play it, but who knows, I might kill myself before that
