When I played genshin I never spent a single $ to the game, I played this game as f2p and stayed as f2p to this day. Whenever some funny gacha character comes out and I want it, I will just have to explore, get myself primogems, and use that primogems to pull for a character. There's a personal satisfaction in there albeit virtual.
Gacha game design model has been proven to be more rewarding than triple A vidya where you consoom story, graphic, visual, presentation, with absolutely no feedback at all. Like, okay, cool you beat ac mirage or the newest call of duty, but what did you get from it? You spent money, you spent chunks of your time playing that slop, you get some story and presentation yes, but what does the story or presentation gave you? Nothing
