I want to like it but it's just not clicking for me, dunno why.
It feels like a checklist with very little reward or satisfaction. The combat system isn't that fun. Story is uninteresting and there's very little of it.

It looks very good on my 6" chinkheld but that's it.
Maybe I just need to get to the mecha part

The game was already fully explored by the community a decade ago. The wanderlust is gone and I alread out my 500 hours in. DE isn't really an upgrade and without a Shitch 2 patch there is literally no reason to play it.

Im still playing it but at super slow s ail pace. Just got my first skell in 50 hours.

Half of the reason is that, while it's an interesting concept, gameplaywise there isn't a lot of discuss.
It's a textbook JRPG, a simple and easy game, but with cool visuals and concepts.

I want a Xenoblade game getting Destiny 2 treatment with content updates constantly coming in like new regions levels and gear and stuff. Idk a singleplayer MMOlite or something. Just X with a really slow grind and constant new content. MMOs are becoming single player anyway. I guess Genshin Impact does that but I just don't want a gacha.

Just another example of clunkiness/jank being a good thing actually. Just an example, having to find your party members in the world made everything feel more alive, like the whole world didn't revolve around you. Especially when you would go to their normal hang out spot to only find that they're not there and you have to track them down on some other part of the world to get a miss-able conversation.

There's good bishoujo artist out there that can actually do character design (both males & females) & their art doesn't looks like eroge-reject.
the example I could think of is Kawaguchi (picrel). Fuzichoco, Yoneyama Mai, Mogumo, Hidari, etc.
Hell, even Choco has better artstyle than Saitom (as long Takahashi tard-wrangle him).
Honestly, I think that Monolith artist who did heroes art is great & would prefer if Monolith use them as the next lead artist for Xenoblade, but I guess their artstyle aren't too marketable for otakus.

Next Xenoblade should look like a 90s anime. Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Cowboy Bebop, Pokemon, Neon Genesis, whatever. Just a hand drawn and semi-CG style that doesn't look like complete ass

I don't think the generic anime art is the right answer going forward. You're not gonna pull in the Genshin crowd either with that art so jsut do your own thing.

Maybe give them more defining facial features or something rather than just a barely a dot for a nose and a tiny little single line mouth. I don't think making your characters look like generic anime cardboard cut outs that look like they could swapped in and out of any generic otaku anime does the games any favours.

This guy gets it. Noah was a terrible protagonist but everyone just glazes him because of the romantic subplot and the 'tortured soul' that is N. Lowpoint in the series if you ask me. Matthew was leagues better, plus his sister is an absolute titty monster.
