Why did people even follow Voldemort when he had a habit of killing and abusing his own followers AND he himself is half-muggle anyways?

This is why chosen one stories and HFY shit always comes off as cringe to me. You already know they are meant for greatness, why should I or anyone else be surprised or amazed by such exploits? It's like betting on a race you already rigged and then acting like winning is still an accomplishment or something worth praising or being excited over.

When he saw Harry at the ministry, he immediately went to kill him because he wasn't letting any more heart of the cards bullshit stop him. Harry would have died right there if Dumbledore didn't show up incredibly conveniently and calmly.
