How can the most popular system of the generation have such low software sales?

No exclusives. Buying an exclusive on Switch 2 is almost always worth it because it is the best and only way to play that game.
Buying Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 is meaningless because the ultimate edition will be on PC in 6 months anyway.

Timed exclusives literally don't work.

Well it actually happened this time around. Gamers are done. Kids are playing roblox and Fortnite, and shit like that, rather than buying consoles. Japan is especially screwed sicne they have no children.

A PS5 owner is like 40+. It's not the hobby of youth but old ass men. No one has any solution to this. There might not even be a PS6.
