2008 financial crash was objectively when it was all over but you could still pretend it wasn't for a while. 2015 was the last year that felt somewhat normal and by 2020 is when it was undeniable that it was all truly over

I think the 2010s political brainrot and covid made everyone truly realize how awful everyone else around them, magnified by things like social media and smartphones. We really arent meant to “connect” as much as the world likes us to believe. Isolation and sticking to people you know is whats good.
