i was a retarded 3 year old when dkc1 i didnt fully play the trilogy until i was 19. It was 10/10 experience and aged incredibly well. This is just disnification nintendo is doing to appeal to mass markets. Started with the mario movie.

They tried really hard to innovate dk after rare left and basically none of the games landed until they made a proper platform again. It doesn't need to be a side scroller when mario already has that wheel house

Its nintendo's IP and after so much years it makes sense to redesign him in house
