This is one of those games that is going to get a yearly replay. It's going to need some re-balancing on the late game to make it more challenging though otherwise it feels like you need to gimp yourself to get the most out of the end fights

Are you assuming that literally every interaction in that world is being hand-managed by Verso's soul or one of the other Dessendre family? I don't see any evidence that that is the case.
