Nah, there's few careers on this planet we can't be harsh against because our lives depend on them:
Medical, food producers, water procurers, refiners, processers, and logisticians, logistics itself as pertains to transportation, construction, and forestry, with firefighters being up there too, as well as the energy grid sector though that's not as pertinent as the previous ones, and of course those who clean up our environments and waste to keep us from turning into Poojeets and dying from illnesses and stench. That's about all the vital / quasi-vital careers that actually matter and need constant inflow of workforce, and which need respect.

Game devs are nowhere on that list.
They are not even half way near that list.
They are not even at the top of the bottom of the list of careers or economic sectors that should be respected or in any way honoured.
They are beneath the bottom of the very bottom.
They are privileged parasitic piles of shit who only exist because every other sector in existence enables them, no other reason. They contribute nothing to society that can't be withdrawn through another 9001 venue of entertainment and psychological satisfaction. What's more, their market is oversaturated, so all of them have lower value than ever before in history, and less by day as more shit hits the marketplace. They only deserve respect, when they in turn act and behave humble; otherwise your job is to beat them up at first sight, and have a poojeet shit across their faces so as to not dirty your own hands.
